On display are 112 sketches, featuring typical images of Vietnam, from the buffaloes and bamboo trees to the gate of the Hung Kings Temple and Hanoi’s Flag Tower.
The exhibition also displays the originals of more than 100 pencil and colour drawings of the national emblem.
Some 15 sketches were submitted to the Government in October 1954 for consideration, and President Ho Chi Minh signed a decree on January 14, 1956 to publicise the official emblem of Vietnam.

Painter Bui Trang Chuoc, born in 1915 in Hanoi, graduated from the Indochina Fine Arts College, now known as the Vietnam Fine Arts University, in 1941. He was the first Vietnamese painter to design postage stamps in Indochina.

Trinh Thu Vinh and Pham Quang Huy from Vietnam clinched the gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team category at the Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship 2024 in Indonesia, according to the Vietnamese shooting team’s training board. The event took place from January 5-18 and is considered a qualifying round for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Only individual events are taken into account for the ticket to the Games. The Vietnam Connection Music Festival 2023 will take place this weekend and next weekend in Hanoi, with performances from both domestic and foreign artists. The artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music (VNAM) and the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra will perform two special concerts titled “Music Night at the Theater” and “German Music Night” on April 14 and 22, respectively, at the Grand Concert Hall, VNAM in My Dinh location, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi.
