Vietnam scoops 16 int’l awards at World Travel Awards 2022

Vietnam was awarded World’s Leading Heritage Destination 2022 for the third time since 2019 while its capital of Hanoi was honored as World’s Leading City Break Destination 2022.

Three of the country’s popular tourist destinations, including Phu Quoc Island off the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang, Moc Chau District in the northern mountainous province of Son La, and Tam Dao Town in the northern province of Vinh Phuc, were recognized as World’s Leading Nature Island Destination 2022, World’s Leading Regional Nature Destination 2022, and World’s Leading Town Destination 2022, respectively.

Sun World Ba Na Hills received the titles of World’s Leading Cable Car Ride 2022, World’s Leading Iconic Tourist Attraction 2022, and World’s Leading Iconic Tourist Bridge 2022.

Sun World Fansipan Legend was named World’s Leading Cultural Tourist Destination 2022 and World’s Leading Natural Landscape Tourist Attraction 2022.

Hoi An Memories Land and Intercontinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort claimed the World’s Leading Entertainment Destination 2022 and World’s Leading Green Resort 2022 awards.

The World’s Leading Cultural Airline 2022 and World’s Leading Group Tour Operator 2022 prizes went to national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and Vietravel Corporation.

JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa and Hotel de la Coupole – Mgallery were accredited as World’s Leading Luxury Wedding Resort 2022 and World’s Leading Design Hotel 2022, respectively.

The World Travel Awards was established in 1993 to acknowledge excellence in travel, tourism, and hospitality. 

Heralded as the “travel industry’s equivalent of the Oscars” by the Wall Street Journal, the awards are based on votes from the public and travel professionals across the globe.

A Melody Celebrating the Strong Bond between Vietnam and Japan Echoed in Tokyo

Hundreds of Japanese students participated in an international exchange day on October 14 at Tomigaya Elementary School in Tokyo, Japan. At the event, five young Vietnamese people won awards in the singing contest for the Vietnam – Japan friendship song “Tomodachi – Tinh ban” (Tomodachi – Friendship) on the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan. Japanese students could learn about Vietnam by presenting their understanding of Vietnamese dishes, culture, tourism potential or the differences between Japanese and Vietnamese education. “Connecting Hanoi’s Art Scene: Bringing Together 80 International Artists from 30 Countries”

The Hanoi Art Connecting is happening at the Hanoi Architectural University from October 18 to 24. Vietnamese artist Vu Tuan Dat will be participating in Hanoi Art Connecting 2023. Hanoi Art Connecting (HAC) is now in its sixth edition, showcasing various artistic activities such as painting workshops, printmaking, sculpture, installation, and more. Tuyen Lam Receives UNESCO Recognition as Outstanding Asia-Pacific Tourism Destination

According to the notification, Tuyen Lam will officially be bestowed with the title during the Vietnam-India cultural and economic exchange, as well as a ceremony to honor intellectuals, managers, scientists, social activists, entrepreneurs, and businesses in Asia-Pacific. This prestigious event will take place in New Delhi on August 3rd. Nguyen Quoc Tuyen, Director of the Management Board of the area, shared that Tuyen Lam Lake is the first site in Vietnam to receive this title, and it is the only one in Asia to be honored this time. The official mentioned that the necessary dossiers to register for the title were submitted to UNESCO in March. Located 6km south of Da Lat, a renowned tourist destination in Lam Dong, Tuyen Lam Lake boasts a water surface of 350ha. It was formed by Tia stream, the headwater of Da Tam river.
